- How far in advance do you book?
For family sessions, I usually book about two weeks out at least. It's not rare to schedule a month or so ahead.
For weddings it's anywhere from six to twelve months, but as long as I am available on your date I would be willing to discuss. If you've got your venue booked, booking your photographer is a great next step to ensure you get the photographer you want!
- What is required for a booking?
For a family session, I require a $50 non-refundable deposit.
For a wedding, to officially reserve a date I require a non-refundable 20% deposit and a signed contract.
- Do you give the option to purchase the digital files?
Yes, purchasing the files is always an option for any wedding or session. I sell both the entire set of images and single digital files.
- Do you offer canvases and prints?
Yes, after your wedding or session, all the images will be posted in an online gallery for for viewing and ordering. For weddings, even guests are able to order images.
- What should we wear to our engagement or family session?
I always say "wear what makes you feel beautiful." I definitely recommend you choose outfits that reflect your personality and the personalities of your family. You want to coordinate but no need to "match." A great starting point is always to dress the "lady" or "mom" first, then choose the rest of the outfits from there! You know what they say about mama being happy :)
- How long does it take to get the photos back?
Turn around time is typically two to four weeks but I can surprise you now and then with them quicker!
- What type of camera do you use?
I shoot with Canon equipment, specifically a 5D mark iii and of course, I always have backup equipment.
- What happens if you have an emergency and can't make the wedding?
I will do my best to use our network of local photographers to find you a suitable replacement, or if need be refund your money. Thankfully in over 8 years of weddings, I have yet to have this problem!
- Do you have any formal photographer training?
Yes, in fact, I do. I graduated with a Fine Art Degree in Photography from the University of Delaware in 2004. I photographed my first wedding right after my graduation and was hooked! I had been consistently photographing friends children and families all through college. I have been able to participate in many workshops as well since then that have been led by world renowned photographers. I vow to never stop learning and growing!
- Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, of course, my business license is in DE and I have good insurance!
